Vegas FAQs

Here are some Las Vegas FAQs - feel free to contact us if there are some FAQs we should add here.

What is the best Las Vegas hotel to stay at?

This is something that will vary and you'll need to see for yourself after going there yourself. Personally I find Planet Hollywood to be the best value. I think it's a great location and the rooms are pretty good and you can usually get a nice rate to make it hard to resist. This is Vegas, you shouldn't be spending much time in your room, so I look at location and price for my decision each trip of where to stay.

What is the best hotel when bringing underage kids?

Las Vegas really isn't the best place for a family vacation but there are plenty of families there. If you are going to be bringing kids with you on your Vegas vacation, I'd suggest Circus-Circus the most. There is plenty there for kids such as an arcade, rides, carnival games and circus acts. There is even a McDonalds. You'll also be able to find the room rates to be some of the cheapest available on the Strip. The location, however, is a bit far north on the Strip and isn't that good if you wanted to walk around to each casino.

Which clubs should I go to?

Depending on the day of the week, here's a list of suggestions of some hot Vegas clubs (at the time of writing this):

Monday: XS @ Encore
Tuesday: Pure @ Caesars Palace
Wednesday: LAX @ Luxor
Thursday: Lavo @ Palazzo, Tao @ Venetian, Tryst @ Wynn
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: any of the above

What are some of Vegas' alternatives to clubs?

Voodoo Lounge on the roof of the Rio typically has no dress code and usually no cover charge. What it does have is an amazing view. Close to the Riviera is the Fireside Lounge, located inside the Peppermill restaurant. It's more of a romantic setting and a classic Vegas lounge that features a fire pit with comfortable seating around it. Along the street of Caesars Palace is Serendipity 3. It's a restaurant as well as a great place for a unique drink; frozen hot chocolate with alcohol. I also can't leave off the Carnival Court at Harrah's. It's an outside bar that's open during the day and late into the night with live bands.

What good restaurants does Las Vegas have to offer?

There are so many good restaurants on the Vegas Strip. It will not be cheap, however, to eat there. Yolos at Planet Hollywood is a good stop for some Mexican food. Planet Hollywood also has a very good steak house that I tried 2 years ago, Strip House, that is a bit expensive. I always have to recommend Margaritaville at the Flamingo whenever someone asks for a restaurant to visit. It's really a tourist attraction to me. Be sure to have a loaded Corona when you get there! If you're really hungry at dinner, you might want to go to The Buffet at Bellagio.

How about some interesting non-gambling/non-drinking attractions?

Fountains at the Bellagio
Gondola ride at Venetian
Eiffel Tower elevator at Paris
Rides at Stratosphere
Lions at MGM
Shark reef at Mandalay Bay
Safari on the Strip across from Mandalay Bay
Shopping
Spas
Pools
Walking the Strip! Inside and outside the casinos/hotels
